Packing List

Clothes: Travelers must carry two-layer clothes because Uganda is a warm country. It is important to take into consideration the cultural values of the country especially when traveling in rural areas. Long sleeved shirts and trousers are recommended for primates tracking to protect one against insects, thorns and the sun’s rays. The colors of the clothes should resonate with the jungle life.

Gloves: Travelers need to have their hands covered especially when taking part in gorilla trekking, nature walks and chimpanzee trekking. The forests are full of thorns and tree branches that could cause injury to the hands as you support yourself during hiking. The gloves also prevent dirt and germs from getting into the hands.

12 days best of Uganda tourFoot wear: It is important for a visitor to wear jungle/safari boots while on a Uganda trip. The boots should have very good grip and be water proof because this 12 days Uganda safari will involve nature walks and forest hiking. Normal shoes may wear out very easily when used in demanding situations. You therefore need very strong shoes that cover the feet well.

A rain coat: Uganda is a tropical country which receives both rain and sunshine throughout the year. It can rain on any given day especially with the recent global warming. It is very hard to predict the weather. The traveler has to carry a rain coat every time they go out of their hotel.

Drinks: Drinking water and energy drinks should always be carried because Uganda is not a cold country. The safari activities will drain your energy and because of that, visitors need enough fluids to recuperate.

Packed food: A Uganda safari involves traveling long distances and hours. Tourists are advised to carry some snacks like biscuits, cakes, chips, cereals and grains in case hunger strikes and you cannot find a suitable restaurant.

A good camera and binocular: Why would you go on a safari without a camera or pair of binoculars. A camera is a requirement for a meaningful safari in Uganda. The camera will help you capture every moment of your safari. Binoculars will help you spot distance birds, wildlife and scenery as you travel from place to place. It is also important while tracking chimpanzees and smaller primates.

A mobile phone:  You need a phone to communicate with your loved ones back home especially when traveling to a foreign country. We recommend a smart phone because of its convenience. Sim cards are easy to acquire in Uganda.

Personal items: By this we mean toiletries, deodorants, sanitizers, antibiotics and anti-malarial tablets.
